NEARLY 1,20,000 METRIC TONNES OF GARBAGE IS PRODUCED IN URBAN INDIA. 50-60% OF THIS IS BIODEGRADABLE. HOW EVER , UNFORTUNATELY THIS PRECIOUS MATERIAL IS WASTED BY BURNING.
IT IS HIGH TIME THAT POLICY MAKERS AND MUNICIPAL ADMINSTRATION TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND MAKE PLANS FOR TURNING IT INTO VALUABLE COMPOST.
