NURSERY READY TO TRANSPLANT
Here you can see the paddy seedlings ready to be transplanted. Farmers in our area generally commit many small mistakes which lead to yield loss.
GAPS IDENTIFIED:
paddy seedlings are pulled and kept in field and on field bunds for 2 to 3 days before they are transplanted.
No care is taken while pulling nursery. pulled seedlings( roots) are washed thoroughlyand entire soil is removed so as to .
Nursery is raised some where away from main field and transported
and delay in transportation is also a common phenomenon .
Urea is applied to nurseries just few days before transplantation .
POLAMBADI -Farmers Field School, provides good oppertunity of enlightening farmers on these gaps.
